Accepting a Gift

Below is an outline giving you some ideas of accepting a gift as this can be frightening as presenting a gift

Accepting a gift

  1. Formally state your acceptance of the gift remembering

    • Your surprise at receiving the gift (if there is any)
    • Your pleasure at this token of affection
    • The usefulness of the gift or it's beauty if more appropriate
  2. Express any other thoughts that you wish to share with the audience
  3. Thank the givers of the gift and remember that it is not just the person who presented the gift who will have paid and chosen the gift for you.

Remember to sound sincere even if you don't like the gift!
