Bournemouth Music Competitions Festival


CLOSING DATE 15TH MARCH 2010

Would you like to perform on stage in Bournemouth?

Well you can at the Bournemouth Music Competitions Festival

The 2010 festival takes place between 28th June - 2nd July 2010

Ages 7 – 80 plus

Some of the classes take place during school time so time will have to be taken out of school.

Bournemouth Speech and Drama Festival (part of the Bournemouth Music Competitions Festival) will be in it’s 82nd Season.

Congratulations to all my pupils who entered this year.

Entry fees range from £3.40 - £6.40 per class

Choose from one or more of the following:


VERSE SPEAKING from memory

  • Own Choice 8 – 13 years
  • Own Choice 14 – 18 years
  • Own choice Adults

  • Set poem 6 – 15 years - you only compete against children the same age as you
  • 16 years and over

BIBLE READING

  • Any age, own choice which can be any religious text
  • Any age, set piece Psalm 81
  • Ages 8 - 14, own choice can be any religious text
  • Ages 8 - 14, set piece St John 20 vs 11 - 18
  • Ages 15 - 17, own choice which can be any religious text
  • Ages 15- 17, set piece 1 Samuel 3 vs 1 - 10

    • RADIO CLASS A BOOK AT BEDTIME

    The competitors will not be in view of the audience and will be judged on whether the manner of reading would make the adjudicator want to listen to the next instlament.

    Own Choice – competitors to read part of a story for any age group. Max 3 mins.

    9 – 17 years

    Adult

    TELEVISION NEWSREADING

    This class will be recorded during the morning and will be played back to the adjudicator and other competitors later in the day.

    News Scripts will be sent to competitors in advance to allow time for study. The script will be the same for each competitor.

    12 – 15 years

    Adults over 16 years
